This week on The Web of Queer, it's our Series 8 overview and a discussion on bisexual characters in Doctor Who.
Our overview discussion starts with talk of our newest Doctor. Now that the series is complete, how does his arc hold up? Have we changed our initial opinions? We then talk about Clara, Danny, and take a deep dive into the concept of lying itself.
Ace! Shakespeare! Ianto! Oswin! Max! We talk about some of the bisexual characters seen on the show, and how effective those portrayals were. What feels authentic, and what puts us off? How does each representation work individually, and what is the narrative they present as a whole?

This week on The Web of Queer, it’s the review of the series finale Death in Heaven, and our review of the Classic Sylvester McCoy episode, Remembrance of the Daleks!
As the series goes out with a cyberbang, and with so much emotion to wade through, how did we like the closer? What did we dig deep into, and what requires a bit of handwaving?
In our Remembrance review, how did our Classic newbies like this Seventh Doctor story? What stands up, and what falls flat? Where does the nostalgia fit in and what connections to the new series did we notice?

On this episode of The Web of Queer, it’s time for Dark Water, and our discussion on asexuality, aromanticism, and how they relate to fandom and the Doctor.
For our Dark Water review, the conversation turns quickly to the Big Reveal. Then the next one, then the next! Post-it notes, keys and skeletons, oh my! With so much to digest in this episode, and so much to come, how did we sort through everything?
Doctor Who fandom has long labeled the Doctor asexual. Do we feel that this accurately reflects the Doctor? We discuss the impacts of the use and misuse of the terms asexual and aromantic in fandom, and why getting things right matters so much.

In this episode of The Web of Queer, we review of In the Forest of the Night, and the Tom Baker episode The Deadly Assassin.
With no monster to face, the characters become front and center in this story. How were the kids, did Clara fulfill her responsibilities, and what do we make of Danny now? Does this turn into modern day mythology, and do we think modern society would really forget?
Our Deadly Assassin review turns to thoughts of how the Time Lords compare to the modern day society that we’ve been given glimpses of. What things do we think the Doctor picked up from his old chaps, and what things does he want to leave behind? And in such a packed four parter, what do we notice is conspicuously missing?

In this episode of The Web of Queer we review the newest episode, Mummy On The Orient Express, and take a look at the Hartnel classic, The Aztecs.
In Mummy, we ogle the setting a bit, then get down to business. Do the ends justify the means? Do we think the Doctor is reasonable in how he interacts with those about to die? What about our main characters' addictions and what do we think of how the Mummy is selecting victims?
What things in The Aztecs caught our attention? As Barbara takes center stage, what did we think of her, and the other women’s portrayals in the 1964 story, and did we see any threads to modern day Who?

In this episode of The Web of Queer, we review the space thriller Kill the Moon. But how thrilling was it? Who tripped over the science, and who tripped over the Doctor?
In our second segment, we talk about a few of the lesbians featured in the world of Who. From the 20th century to the year 5 BillionFiftyThree, we’ve met all kinds, but who stuck out? Who do we think gets good representation, and who still has to deal with 21st century homophobia?

After “The Caretaker,” the internet is abuzz with conversations about the Doctor/Clara/Danny dynamic, and we are no different! Who thinks Danny is setting too many rules, and who is okay with the ultimatum? We also puzzle out the Smith look-a-like, chat bit more about Missy, and dig into the Officer/Soldier comparisons going on in this episode.
Later, we have our review of “Planet of Fire.” After we have a giggle, we jump into a more serious topic. What was the writers initial intent to the back-story of back story of the people of Sarn and Trion, and what do we think of what got left after the cut?
This is an episode we would love some feedback on, so post away! Did you have an opinion on any of this before, and did any of us sway you?
